We were established in 1946 after World War II when my father opened a body repair business called John Hewitt Garages, and we now have over 70 years experience in the Motor and Agricultural Salvage Industry. Michael and Adam joined the business in the 1970’s and the business expanded into the salvage management arena and became a limited company – John Hewitt and Sons Garages Ltd. By 1985 the sale of Motor Salvage had become the main focus of the business. Over the next quarter of a century Hewitt International Salvage moved five times culminating in a 50 acre site in Wombourne, Staffordshire handling around 30,000 salvage units a year for many major insurers. The business was sold in 2011. Following the sale, Adam Hewitt Limited was formed as a company specialising in the purchase and sale of agricultural machinery. In April 2017 we are very proud and honoured to re-establish our working relationship with NFU Mutual for the disposal of all Farm, Plant and Machinery salvage collected throughout the UK.
